Dr. Giorgos Demetriou
Dr. Giorgos Demetriou is a senior expert in European research strategy, digital transformation, and innovation governance. He has held several positions across the European Defence Agency (EDA), ENISA, the European Commission, and the European Parliament, and currently serves as Associate Dean of Research and Innovation at École des Ponts Business School in Paris. With more than two decades of experience, Giorgos has led major EU initiatives in research prioritisation, strategic foresight, programme design, and policy alignment. He has also supported the co-developed of niche defence research prioritisation methodologies such as the Overarching Strategic Research Agenda (OSRA), contributed to EU-level frameworks on emerging technologies, AI, and cybersecurity, and played a key role in integrating circular economy and sustainability into cross-sector innovation policy. His track record includes the strategic management of an €80M+ EU research and innovation portfolio, active involvement in flagship programmes under Horizon Europe, EDF, and Digital Europe, and a strong focus on supporting dual-use innovation, digital governance, and Europe’s long-term resilience.

Dr. Constantinos Hadjisavvas
A senior defence expert with over 25 years of high-level experience, actively shaping Europe’s strategic response to emerging threats through policy-making, crisis management, and resilience planning. Currently serving as Director for Digital Resilience and Defence at DIGITALEUROPE, he leads transformative initiatives integrating digital innovation and dual-use technologies into Europe's defence and security sectors. He is also a member of the Cyprus Defence Industrial Council, appointed by the Council of Ministers to enhance national capabilities through civil-military collaboration. Previously at the European Defence Agency, Dr. Hadjisavvas managed high-profile programmes exceeding €10 million, including groundbreaking projects on sustainable energy, climate adaptation, hybrid-threat resilience, and advanced military capabilities. His career features pivotal roles in Cyprus’s Ministries of Defence and Foreign Affairs, the National Crisis Management Centre, and frontline advisory responsibilities in the African Union Mission in Sudan (Darfur). A retired Lieutenant Colonel and graduate of the Hellenic Military Academy, Dr. Hadjisavvas also serves as a Senior Research Fellow at École des Ponts Business School, combining operational excellence with deep academic expertise (PhD, MA, BA). He regularly speaks at international forums and contributes to leading publications, reinforcing his reputation as a trusted advisor and European thought leader in defence resilience.
